Commuters on Monday had a harrowing time travelling on the Central Railway as authorities had to cancel 12 services due to a technical snag at Vidyavihar.

The time table went haywire as trains ran behind schedule by 30 to 40 minutes as CR diverted trains from fast to slow track.
CR said that pantograph of one electric locomotive (two electric locomotives were going from Dadar to Vidyavihar loco shed) got entangled with Over Head Equipment (OHE), blocking services in the up and down fast lines.

VA Malegaonkar, chief public relations officer, CR said, “All train traffic on fast lines were diverted to slow lines between Mulund and Matunga. Twelve locals (6 down and 6 up) were cancelled. KP-4 Khopoli-CST local and 12140 Nagpur-Mumbai Sewagram Express were locked up on up fast line due to the problem.”
The fault occurred at around 11.20am on down fast line (towards Thane) crossover near Vidyavihar. Tower wagons with technical staff were rushed to the spot to resolve the problem, he added. The line was opened for traffic around 12.20 pm.
