Nashik cops pick up, quiz gangster Ashwin Naik

The Nashik police picked up gangster Ashwin Naik on Saturday evening and questioned him for about three hours.    

On a tip-off, the Ambad branch of Nashik police picked up Naik from a hotel in Ambad on Nashik-Mumbai highway. He was detained at Ambad police station for interrogation.

“We wanted to know his motive behind coming to Nashik. He was held only for interrogation and was not arrested,” said DCP Sahebrao Patil.   

A wheel-chair bound Naik was reportedly in Nashik to meet his relatives. Eleven others who were with him were also picked up by the police.

Ashwin Naik is the brother of gangster Amar Naik.
