Two more persons, suspected to have assisted the gunmen who killed the driver-cum-bodyguard of Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar, were today arrested, a senior crime branch officer said.

With this, a total of four persons have been arrested till now for the murder of Arif Syed Abu Bukha, 40, on May 17.

Abdul Rashad Shaikh, 21, was apprehended by the property cell of the crime branch, while the other, Adnan Idaayad Sayyed, 21, is one of the four suspects caught by Maharashtra ATS yesterday and handed over to the crime branch, which later put him under arrest, police said.

"The duo was arrested from the city and produced before a local court which remanded them in police custody till May 31," said additional police commissioner (crime) Deven Bharti.

Three firearms and 12 live cartridges were recovered from them, police said.

According to remand application, Abdul and Adnan had allegedly shown the target -- Kaskar's driver Bukha -- to the two shooters, who fired at him near the gate of Dambarwala building, which houses Kaskar's office and residence in south Mumbai.

The gunmen, Syed Ali, 29, a resident of adjoining Thane, and Indra Khatri, 27, who hails from Nepal, were arrested while trying to escape after killing Bukha.

Maharashtra ATS yesterday caught four persons -Khayyum Sheikh, Ahmed Munsi, Sajid Servar Khan and Adnan Sayyed - suspecting their role in the firing.

ATS chief Rakesh Maria had said Khayyum and Ahmed were believed to have supplied weapons to the shooters, while the other two were said to have acted as watchers at the time of the incident.

However, the crime branch placed only Adnan under arrest, but parried questions over the fate of the three others handed over to them by the ATS.
