Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane today said he would abide by the coalition dharma during the March 26 Legislative Council elections.

"The presence of rebels from Congress and NCP in fray is not my concern," he told reporters.

"I have instructed my supporters that they should vote for the official Congress-NCP candidate Anil Tatkare," Rane said. Anil is the brother of finance minister Sunil Tatkare.

NCP had announced candidature of Anil Tatkare (Konkan) and Vandana Chavan (Pune) for the Legislative Council elections. Chavan has been elected unopposed.

Asked about possible entry of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's estranged daughter-in-law Smita Thackeray into Congress, Rane said he was not aware of the development.
