CID arrest four government officials in medical supply scam in Maharashtra

The sleuths presented all the accused before the court on Thursday which remanded them to police custody till December 28.

Four officials working in the family planning department of the Maharashtra government have been arrested by the CID in an alleged medical supplies scam worth over Rs12 crore.
    
The scam took place at one Irwin hospital between 2004-2006. The sleuths presented all the accused before the court on Thursday which remanded them to police custody till December 28, official sources said.
    
CID sleuths arrested four accused, namely, Suresh Dhotre, deputy director, family planning - Pune, Prakash Pund, a junior clerk at District Women Hospital here, Prakash Tatode, assistant superintendent at Rural Hospital, Warud and Prakash Sakhare, senior clerk at District General Hospital here.
    
CID officials took Suresh Dhotre and Prakash Sakhare to Pune for the investigation today and will conduct searches at their residence, sources said.
