Brothers arrested for misleading court

The DB Marg police recently arrested two brothers for allegedly misleading the court. The elder brother used to appear in the court hearings and pose as his accused, whwas his younger brother. After the court staff learnt about this, they lodged a police complaint against the two brothers.
 
The arrested brothers have been identified as Chintamani Gupta, 58 and brother Kamlaprasad 57.
 
According to the police, Kamlaprasad runs a bar known as Raj Palace Bar and Restaurant in Grant Road area. On February 28, 2011 the police had raided Kamlaprasad's bar and had let him off after penalising him. A case was registered with the police in this regard and the matter soon came in the Girgaum court for hearing.
 
"Since March 14 till October 7, his brother Chintamani used to appear in the court hearing posing as Kamlaprasad. Recently when the case up in the court for hearing, Chintamani came as usual, but he was identified by a person known to the brothers. The court staff then got suspicious about the whole issue and judicial clerk Shekhar Mane then lodged a complaint against the brothers for misleading the court," said an officer from DB Marg police station.
 
The duo were arrested and were later released on bail, police said.
