In a bid to create awareness about social issues and to raise funds for a not-for-profit organisation working towards worthy causes, celebrities from different walks of life are auctioning their time.

Enjoy an evening with actor Ajay Devgn, a lunch with actress Raveena Tandon or cricketer Robin Uthappa, a game with billiards champion Pankaj Advani and a chance to visit a film set with actor Boman Irani.

All this and more will go under the hammer of an online auction.
The proceeds of the sale will go to the Children's Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA), a not-for-profit organisation working towards nurturing active citizenship among children.

“The money generated from the bids will be spent on spreading our message on active citizenship for more children and youth, especially in the rural areas,” said Vinodini Lulla, Mumbai coordinator of CMCA.

Up for grabs at the auction on the website ebay is an autographed bat by cricketer Rahul Dravid among other memorabilia and collectibles.

“We influence tens and thousands of active junior citizens each year and this fills me with a sense of hope for the future of our country. By instilling citizenship values in our young, the CMCA is contributing in no small measure to secure and safeguard our democracy and diversity,” said Dravid who has been the organisation’s goodwill ambassador for the last 10 years.

Advani believes that the initiative is a great opportunity to contribute to the causes that are close to people's hearts.
Another fund raising effort by CMCA is “While you were eating”.

The organisation has tied up with eating joints across the country to encourage patrons to donate a part of their bill towards the cause.

The online auction, which began on September 30, will be on until the end of this week.
