Actress files rape complaint against boyfriend in Mumbai

A 23-year-old small-time actress filed a case of rape  and cheating against her boyfriend on Saturday night.

The Jogeshwari police have arrested the accused, Ravindra Rastogi, who is in the garments business and resides in Mira Road along with his parents. According to the police, he was in a relationship with the victim for the past one and a half years. The victim, too, is a resident of Jogeshwari.

“The victim said in her statement to the police that she met the accused two years ago and they then started going out. One and a half years ago, Rastogi promised to marry her and established physical relations with her,” said a police officer.

“She added that both went to many places outside Mumbai where Rastogi assured her that he would be marry her to and got physical with her,” the officer added.

After some time, Rastogi started avoiding the victim. He told her that his family would not accept her and so he would not be able to marry her. She then visited Rastogi’s house and told his family about their relation. But the family reportedly sided with Rastogi.

The victim then approached the Jogeshwari police and filed a compliant against him and his parents. The police have arrested Rastogi on charges of rape and cheating. They have also filed a compliant against the family for supporting him. However, they have not arrested his family members.
