Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's brother-in-law Manoj Kumar Tuli alias Kumar Gaurav Thursday deposed as a witness in the special CBI court in Mumbai against five accused in a cheating and forgery case.

According to CBI, in 2003, a company Pradkar brothers had taken a loan from the Wadala branch of Bank of India and had also availed some overdraft facility. The accused wanted to buy Beta editing equipment.

"The Pradakar brothers approached Gaurav's company Editorid, who sold the machinery to the former for Rs eight lakhs," said special CBI prosecutor Azhar Ali Ansari.

However, the accused showed the bank a bill of Rs11 lakh, he added.

Following this, the CBI registered a case of cheating, and forgery against the two Pradkar brothers and two of their employees.

Bank manager DH Kiran was also booked for criminal misconduct, besides cheating and forgery.

Gaurav, himself an actor, told the court that he had sold the equipment only for Rs eight lakh and the bill issued to the bank was not given by him.
