The Thane GRP has solved the mystery behind the body of a young woman that was found in a suburban train at Kalwa car shed, nearly a month ago.  The police have arrested six Kalwa youth in connection with the case. Two youth had already been arrested earlier.

HS Jadhav, senior PI from Thane Railway police, said the woman was resident of a slum in Kalwa and was friendly with one of the accused, Bihari. On June 17, he called her to a lonely place near Mafatlal Mills at Kalwa.

There, he along with seven others raped her. When she threatened to go to police, they stabbed her to death and threw her body in the train which had stopped at Kharegaon railway crossing before entering the Kalwa car shed.

Later that night, at around 11pm, Ajitsingh Hinglal Kalam, a constable from Railway Protection Force (RPF) who was on duty in the Kalwa car shed found the woman’s body.

The accused were arrested by Navi Mumbai police while preparing for a robbery.

The six arrested are Mohammad Sajid alias Tasruddin Felu Shaikh, 28, Mohammad Rafiq Mehruddin Shaikh alias Bihari, 22, Alam Tahir khan, 32, Anilkumar Gulabrao Bagde alias Golu, 20, Babu Noor Shaikh, 28, and Munir Muklet Shaikh, 22.

The other two accused, also residents of Kalwa, Mohammad Kalam Noor Mohammad Shaikh, 28, and Sanjay Vishnu Kate, 22, were arrested by Thane GRP two days after the incident. On July 18, Navi Mumbai police transferred the accused to Thane GRP.
