73 participants present papers on 21st century management practices

Out of the 73 research papers, 35 were from Maharashtra and the rest were from other states.

Seventy-three participants from all over India presented their research papers at a two-day national conference, Yugantar, organised jointly by the Alard Institute of Management Sciences (AIMS) and the Association of Management of MBA/MMS Institutes (AMMI) at Hotel VITS in Balewadi, Pune, on September 29 and 30.

Aimed at presentation of research work based on the theme of management systems practised to meet 21st century challenges, speakers at the conference also discussed the opportunities, challenges, weaknesses and threats for new age business organisations.

Inaugurated by Pashupati Razdan, vice chancellor, DY Patil University, Pune, the conference was attended by other dignitaries including SK Mahajan, director, higher and technical education department, Government of Maharashtra; Ashok Joshi, dean, faculty of management, University of Pune (UoP) and Sudhakar Jadhwar, dean, faculty of commerce, UoP, among others.

The director of AIMS and chairman of Yugantar, Eknath Khedkar, said, “Out of the 110 research papers we received, 73 were selected for presentation. All the research papers reflected on changes in management practices due to technological developments in the recent years in India.” 

Out of the 73 research papers, 35 were from Maharashtra and the rest were from other states. Twenty papers came from Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar under the UoP. At the end of the conference, three best research papers were selected for the top honours.

The first place went to Mrs J Bhalerao and Mrs Kowjalgi from Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir’s Institute of Management & Research, Nashik, for their paper on value of customer satisfaction and its impact on marketing.

The second place went to Kishor Kenthe from Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University (JJTU) in Rajasthan, for his case study on competency and efficiency of human resource management (HRM) practices during acquisition.

The third place went to Anaga Gokhale from Vishwakarma Sahajeevan Institute of Management, affiliated to Mumbai University, for her study on competency required for successful HR professionals in knowledge economy.
