3 chains snatched in 24 hrs in Pune

Three incidents of chain snatching took place in Kothrud, Chinchwad and Vishrambaug areas on Tuesday.

Two unidentified miscreants snatched a gold chain valued at Rs50,000 in Kothrud area on Tuesday morning. The two motorcycle-borne youths snatched the chain from Vimal Manikrao Patil, who was jogging with her husband, in front of Shailesh Hall and fled.

Sulochana Ahok Khilare, a 40-year-old housewife, lodged a complaint with the Chinchwad police station on Tuesday stating that two unidentified persons on a motorcycle snatched her gold chain, valued at Rs32,000. According to the police, the incident happened near Talera Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

In the third incident, an unidentified person fled with a gold chain valued at Rs57,000 in Budhwar Peth on Tuesday. The victim, Surekha Sudhir Karmarkar, has lodged a complaint with the Vishrambaug police station.
