Many slogans echoed outside the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) where members of All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) got together to oppose the government’s policy of “favouritism” towards the corporate honchos.

Even though scores of protesters were being taken away in police vans, the employees did not let the movement turn cold.

Dinar Kavisawar, one of the protesters said, “We are very happy with the support people have given us. When the entire world is out on streets to oppose capitalism, we too need to take a step to free India.”

“We oppose this policy of the government wherein the destitute are becoming poorer and the ‘Tatas and Birlas’ are earning billions,” said one of the protesters.

Though the protesters tried their best to get their voices heard by the people, the protest was on a rather small scale as compared to America and Europe. It also cannot be ignored that the movement has not been able to bring any difference in the policies.
