100 Somali pirates sent to Taloja jail

More than 100 Somali pirates have been shifted from overcrowded Arthur road jail to Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai and they have been kept in a separate barrack so they don’t cause harm to other inmates.

More than 100 Somali pirates have been shifted from overcrowded Arthur road jail to Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai and they have been kept in a separate barrack so they don’t cause harm to other inmates.

“The Arthur road jail is overcrowded and there have been plans to shift around 300 prisoners to Taloja Jail within two months” said jail authorities.

The Indian Navy and Coast Guard caught 15 Somali pirates on January 28 and after a week they captured 28 pirates in the Arabian Sea. After a month the Navy caught 61 pirates and had handed them over to the Mumbai police.
