With Sanjeev Dayal's exit two top IPS posts lie vacant

1981 batch IPS officer Satish Mathur was appointed as DG and managing director of Maharashtra State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (MSPHWC). Mathur replaced IPS officer Arup Patnaik.

IPS officer Sanjeev Dayal, who retired from the police department from the post of Director General of Police (DGP), was given a ceremonial salute by the force. IPS officer and Director General rank officer Arup Patnaik too, retired on Wednesday. Both Dayal and Patnaik had earlier served as Mumbai police commissioners.

Around 12.30 pm, Dayal was given a ceremonial salute by the police band, at the DGP headquarters at Colaba.

Meanwhile, following Dayal's retirement, 1980 batch IPS officer Vijay Kamble took charge as new DG of Anti-Corruption Bureau, replacing IPS officer Praveen Dixit, who in turn replaced Dayal. Kamble was earlier heading the Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSSC) as its DG.

IPS officer Meeran Borwankar, who was until now heading the prisons department as additional director general of police (ADGP), got promoted to the rank of director general and replaced Mathur as DG Legal and Techincal.

With the current promotions and transfers, two crucial posts of DG MSSC and ADGP Prisons has become vacant.
