Sikhs to observe 300th martyrdom day of Baba Bahadur

Baba Bahadur was the first Sikh general to have established Sikh rule in a large part of Punjab. He has earned reverence of the Sikh Community for his valour.

The Sikh community in the city will observe the 300th martyrdom day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, a disciple of Guru Gobind Singh, on Saturday. The Maharashtra Sikh Association (MSA) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) have come together to organise the event at Guru Nanak High School Ground in GTB Nagar from 7pm onwards.

The function will include devotional chanting and recitation of Baba Bahadur's life story. MSA spokesperson Bal Malkit Singh said, "As a token of respect and to make people aware about this legend of the Sikh community, and his unparalleled contributions, we have organised this ceremony. We are expecting a lot of people from the community to be a part of it."
