SIES all set for annual college fest 'Fantasies' from today

Inaugurated in 2000, Fantasies is one of the most prominent college festivals in the city. It witnessed record participation last year from 120 colleges across Mumbai, with thousands turning up to attend the event.

As South Indian Education Society (SIES) gets set to stage its annual college festival 'Fantasies' on December 15 and 16, a series of pre-festival social activities were also held in the city, at which NGOs had set up stalls to sell handicrafts such as jute bags, envelopes, diyas, earrings, chocolates and necklaces. The money collected from sales was handed over to 17 children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their caretakers associated with a major health and welfare group Leonard Cheshire Disability.

The theme of this year's festival is 'Nirvana', and will entail various events like talent hunt, performing arts and workshops across innovative topics. The thrust behind the festival is on serenity and tranquility within an individual, and on helping underprivileged kids.

As part of the pre-festival activities, SIES College also conducted a 4.5 km 'Dream Run' associated with 'The Pink Initiative' on December 11 from Sion to Matunga.
