Rajesh Khanna's 'live-in partner' tells Bombay high court she won't press for will documents till Monday

Anita Advani, who has claimed to be the live-in partner of late superstar Rajesh Khanna, on Friday informed the Bombay high court that she would not press for documents related to the actor's will until Monday. The statement was made during the hearing of an appeal filed by Twinkle, Khanna's elder daughter, challenging an earlier order allowing the plea of Advani, who has alleged that the will was forged.

A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice M S Sonak posted the hearing on the appeal to Monday. Twinkle, who has sought to probate (validate) her father's will, had challenged Justice R D Dhanuka's order directing the registry to provide will-related to documents to Advani.

Counsel Birendra Saraf, appearing for Twinkle, argued that the court had erred in noting that no notice to the parties concerned was required to be issued while allowing a petition of a third person seeking documents. He also argued that, "Advani was claiming relief under the Domestic Violence Act and she was not a legal heir of the deceased."

Advani submitted that she was Khanna's live-in partner and that he had told her on various occasions that she would be a beneficiary in his will. She alleged that his family members had indulged in fraud related to the will.

While allowing Advani's plea, Justice Dhanuka had observed that no right was being created in favour of Advani and only the documents were being provided at this stage. Khanna died in July 2012 of prolonged illness, a month after he made his will.
