Raid in Wagle Estate bar, 24 held

Late on Friday night, Wagle Estate police officials raided Sea Queen bar at Louiswadi and arrested eight girls, 10 hotel staff and six musicians.

Some local residents had registered a complaint of indecent behaviour inside the bar and playing loud music in night. According to residents, the bar owner had also carried out illegal work by flouting norms.

An officer said, "The accused are behind bars and have been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of the complaint. During investigation, we found that girls were involved in indecent activities."
