Various concerns were raised and discussed in a meet that was organised to understand the development plan (DP 2014-2034) and to frame suggestions and objections on the excluded part (EP) of the DP. The excluded part of the new development plan is one in which the authorities have made substantial modifications to the development plan that was released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and hence sought suggestions and objections from the people before finalizing it.

The meeting was called by Urban Design Research Institute (UDRI) One of the foremost lacunae that was raised was the lack of DP maps and the DP report, which the body felt should have come with the development control and promotional regulations (DCPR). Among the other concerns in DCPR, the body and citizens gathered found that, discretionary powers of the municipal commissioner were excessive.

"These should have come together. How is a person to understand what is the extent of reservation or changes made to the spot," said Pankaj Joshi, executive director of the UDRI.
