Bride's father approaches cops for dowry harrasment

A senor citizen has lodged a complaint against Bhavesh Saroj, Chandrajit Saroj, Shilpa Saroj, Sanjay Saroj for dowry harassment. The victim, Pannalal Manan Saroj, 60, who saved Rs80,000 for his daughter's wedding since 2011, was asked for Rs10 lakh. No one has been arrested yet.

A case has been registered with Wagle Estate police station under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506(Punishment for criminal intimidation), 500(punishment for defamation) 0f 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Dowry Prohibition Act.

A police official from the Wagle Estate police station said, "The victim had intially paid advance amount Rs80,000 for the marriage hall. The groom's family delayed the wedding date twice. Further probe is on".
