Several final year students of Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) under the affiliated colleges of the University of Mumbai were in for a shock when they found out that they had failed in the subjects for which they had applied for re-evaluation earlier this year.

Students from across city colleges claimed that when the result of the semester V was declared by the varsity in February, many top scorers scored way below their expectations. Thus, they decided to apply for re-evaluation, the results of which were declared recently.

Several students were shocked to see that they had scored even lower and many of them have even failed their exams after re-evaluation. "I got A grade in all my previous semesters, but my score was low in this semester. My teachers advised me to apply for re-evaluation. However, the re-evaluation result unsettled me. The paper in which I scored 37, fetched 17 marks after re-evaluation! I failed in the subject! And my case is not singular, this cannot be a coincidence" said a student from a Vile Parle college on the condition of anonymity.

Several students who had applied for photocopy of their answer booklets have still not got it months after the results came out. "We don't know where the assessors have slashed marks as the photocopies are yet to come. But there is definitely some issue with the assessment. People with 'O'(outstanding) grade have scored way lower this semester," said another student from a south Mumbai college.
