MUMBAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday announced the names of three candidates for the May 26 biennial elections to the legislative council.
 
State unit president Nitin Gadkari said sitting MLC Jagdish Gupta had been re-nominated to the Amravati local bodies constituency, while Samir Kunawar would contest the Wardha-Chandrapur seat.
 
 Rohidas Deshmukh would take on Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh’s brother, Dilip, in the Osmanabad-Beed-Latur constituency.
 
Officially, Anant W Tare of Shiv Sena has been re-nominated to the Raigad-Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg seat. Sitting Congress MLC Sureshdada Deshmukh would be taking on Uttamrao R Shinde (Independent).
