In an unprecedented move that signifies the height of bitterness that the relationship between Cyrus Mistry and the Tatas has reached, Tata Sons have completely ignored contribution of Cyrus Mistry to the Tata empire while describing him as a former group chairman.

In a profile written about Cyrus Mistry as the former chairman of the group, that would surely cause him more embarrassment, there is no mention and acknowledgement or even a word of appreciation for his work.

Instead, Cyrus Mistry has been praised for his work towards the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, his family business!

"Under his leadership, Shapoorji Pallonji's construction business grew into a billion-dollar enterprise," This is the only description that Tata Sons have put up in its website tata.com under former chairmen category while completely ignoring his contribution to Tata Group during his tenure as chairman

"Cyrus P Mistry was the sixth Chairman of the Tata group. He was Chairman of Tata Sons from December 2012, to October 2016. Mr Mistry is the chairman of leading Tata group companies," was all the Tatas had to say about Mistry.

In contrast, Ratan Tata, in his profile, has been credited with helping group's revenues grew manifold, totalling over $100 billion in 2011-12, till his retirement.
Cyrus, in a bid to beat his own drum, claimed in his letter to the Tata Sons directors that net worth of the holding company has gone up from Rs 26,000 crore to Rs 42,000 crore during his tenure.

In a related development, tata.com has restored the interview of Mistry which had earlier appeared in Tata's inhouse publication and which was reportedly removed from the website.
That lengthy interview by the reticent and shy Mistry outlined "coming to grips with the responsibility of chairmanship, the multiple challenges facing Tata companies, the essentials of technology, innovation and customer centricity, and the continuing Tata commitment to societal causes," as the introduction described the write-up.
