The State Bank of India (SBI) will be replacing the debit cards of over six lakh of its customers, according to a Times of India report.

The report said that the country's largest public sector bank has already dispatched over 6.29 debit cards to take precautions amid security data breach. The exercise is now being termed as the biggest card replacement in Indian banking, the report said.

In a security data breach that went undetected for a couple of months, debit card details of nearly 32 lakh customers of 19 banks were compromised. Several banks urged their customers to change the ATM pins immediately, with several banks enabling the process during a net banking login session.
