Orient Green Power in Q2 suffers a Rs 21 crore net loss

Orient Green Power Company on Thursday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 21.06 crore in the sector quarter ended September 30.

The company had recorded a Rs 1.97 crore profit in the same period last fiscal, said Orient Green Power Company Ltd in a BSE filing on Thursday.

According to the statement, the company's consolidated income from operation was Rs 138.61 crore during the quarter under review as compared to Rs 151.42 crore in the same period a year ago.

The group operates only in generation of power through renewable sources.

It added that the operations of the group are seasonal in nature and the performance of any quarter may not be representative of the annual performance.

Further, the biomass plants of the group had shut down during the first half year of the current fiscal on account of business or operational reasons, the company said.
