Eros Now collabrates with Paytm for digital payments

E-wallet transactions in the country have growth two-fold in 2014-16.

Eros Now, film entertainment company, said it had partnered with One97 Communications-owned Paytm to allow its customers make easy digital payments. According to a statement from the company, it has 55 million registered customers. 

Speaking on the collaboration, Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO, Eros Digital said, “E-wallets are becoming vastly popular, especially with India’s youth, as they provide on-the-go, convenient payments. Especially post-demonetization in India, there has been a high surge in mobile and digital payments.

"We are excited to join hands with India’s largest mobile payments and commerce platform, Paytm. This association furthers our strategy to continue providing a seamless experience and endless entertainment to our two million paid subscribers and over 55 million registered users worldwide.”

According to the data provided in the report,  India has seen two times growth in the e-wallet transactions in the year 2014-16. Also, mobile payment transactions are expected to reach $780 billion by 2017.

Eros Now offers vast libraries of movies with 5,000 films currently and an additional 5,000 films being added. It also offers premium television shows, music videos and audio tracks.
