At home and at work, the ladies are leading the way

They make for good bosses
Female bosses are as capable as their male counterparts. They both are intellectually equal and their capabilities depend on the quality of their work. Many men are not used to dealing with women at work and are intimidated by their presence in the workplace. They are more used to dealing with them at home. So when men have female bosses, they feel awkward as they are in unfamiliar territory. Women make good bosses and are as capable as men when it comes to work.

They have strong EQs
Women have strong emotional quotients. This is the reason why most female bosses make decisions based on their emotions. My ex-boss was a woman and I enjoyed working with her. She was considerate and every employee could be candid with her. But then all women bosses are not the same. It is quite probable that at times some women bosses can be cattish as well. I also think women bosses try to be very diplomatic. So when it comes to giving appraisals, women bosses avoid giving steep hikes to deserving candidates. A lack of consistency in the appraisals may lead to differences among employees.

Gender is no longer an issue
Women are at par with men with the evolution of the female boss. Today, salaries are no longer decided on the basis of gender and women are taking up a lot of leadership roles in several organisations. I feel very fortunate to have a great female boss. She empowers the whole team and hardly interferes in the way we work. The best part about my female boss is the way she trusts us with decision-making and other important tasks. Women make for great bosses.

The Alpha Woman has arrived
The corporate scenario in India is constantly changing. Women are doing well in predominantly male fields like technology. Some of the top MNCs in India have female bosses. Today, gender doesn’t have any role to play as the capability of an individual
is what matters at the end of the day. In rural India, more and more young girls are getting an education, and this means more women will enter the corporate sector. Businesses are giving women greater opportunities. This is the age of the alpha woman who can manage both, her career and family. The salary divide no longer exists and it’s the personality that matters.
