It is never good to copy someone else’s designs; you should always have your own individuality. Be unique and different. Come up with your own idea and be as creative as possible.

Before any ramp show, see that everything is set — right from the ramp to the music, everything has to be perfect. Make sure that no one has to undergo any kind of inconvenience or problem because of you. Check everything beforehand.

Punctuality is absolutely necessary; being late for a show or for anything never leaves a good impression on people. It is always good to be on time at the venue. Like the proverb says, a stitch in time saves nine.

Be nice; the way you mingle with and treat people is always a very important thing that a person has to remember. One should remain calm in all situations and be as nice as possible. And treat your guests in a very warm and welcoming way.

Whenever you’re hosting a do, check with the guest list, see to it that there is enough seating and also make sure that the seating is in such a way that the view is clear. Make sure that none of the guests have any sort of problem or inconvenience.

Guests who attend a formal affair should always carry their invitation, especially if the invite requests you to. Never gatecrash an event, however much you may want to see the show; it upsets the arrangements that the design house would have made.

Acknowledge the applause and be modest. Someone compliments you, learn to take it. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. Be confident and not overconfident.

Please switch off phones and other accessories. Imagine yourself in a meeting with someone and while discussing something important, you’re distracted by that horrible ringtone of your phone. Therefore, it’s imperative that your phone is either switched off or on silent mode when involved in serious discussion.

Being on time makes an image on everyone’s mind. Punctuality is of utmost importance. Studio time costs so make sure that no matter what, you have to be on time wherever you go and thereby, one does not upset the schedule of the show.

Maintain a good rapport with the people you work and interact with; try and go beyond the usual ‘hellos’ and get to know them. Being rude portrays a very bad image of oneself and it’s always good to be amicable to others because that’s how you network and also get your work done. They are the ones who will wear, appreciate and purchase your clothes.
