Day Two saw a heady mix of Indian and western wear being sashayed on the ramp. Designer Nachiket Barve, for instance presented a line of comfortable silhouttes, in his trademark style and funky saris. As always, Nachiket’s designs were made keeping in mind the real woman. Cleverly used tie and dye techniques were merged with large borders with floral blouses to form the crux of his sari line.

After designer Rohit Bal's off site offering on Day One, all eyes were on designer Tarun Tahiliani as people wondered if he could outdo Rohit's installation stunt. Tarun showed a total of three collections, making sure that the event was all about the clothes. There was no celebrity showstopper but the front row was packed with the who’s who of Delhi's society pack. Making a rare appearance was sitarist and singer Anushka Shankar. Coming back to the collections, they had everything from shirts, tunics, dresses and kaftans to appease a fashionista. The show commenced at a popular restaurant and had the Qutub Minar as the backdrop.

Mumbai-based designer Vaishali S managed to impress the Capital with her fusion line. A tribute to Sufi influences in our lives, Vaishali used hand woven organic cottons to portray the purity of the theme. A majority of the designs were in black and white, intersperced with only a sprinkling of occasional colour.

Rakesh Agrawal’s show generated a lot of buzz and it had to do with more than just the garments. The show had singer Anushka Manchanda take centre stage and croon to set the mood for glamorous cocktail gowns. Wrap dresses, structured outfits, skirts with thigh-high slits and cocktail gowns in hot pinks, midnight blue and olive greens were the essence of his line.
