While you must be saturated with the love promoting food and drink that made a buzz all of last week and before, promising you some sureshot intimate moments, why not also try some fun, anti-mush and anti-romantic dishes geared to kill OTT romance post V-Day!

Here’s what our city chefs suggest:
Chef Vicky Ratnani, Aurus:
“I suggest one should try the Thai Yellow Curry Braised Lamb Shanks (a part of the main course on our menu). It’s the most gorgeously tasty rich heavy dish, but you would love to go to sleep rather than celebrate indoor Valentine games.”

Chef Vikas Seth, Sancho’s:
“Habanero Chicken’, that’s crispy chicken and bell peppers tossed in Habanero ketchup. It is really hot and fiery made with the world famous spiced Habanero chilli paste not meant for a sweet Valentine.”

Chef Nachiket Shetye, 36 Oak & Barley:
“Try Shrimp Calamari Ajillo would be the best anti-love dish. One of the most common tapas of Spain, Shrimp and Calamari ajillo is quick, easy and full of garlic flavour. Originally, it’s a Catalan dish but enjoyed throughout Spain. Some call this dish Gambas al Pil Pil (“pil pil” sounds a lot like spluttering oil) because the prawns are still sizzling when they’re served. The reason it qualifies to be an anti-romance dish is because of the overwhelming stink of garlic. I doubt anyone would want to kiss their Valentine after a helping of the dish.”

Executive Chef Paul Kinny, InterContinental, Marine Drive:
“Spinach and cheese ravioli in burnt garlic butter would be the ideal anti-romantic dishes according to me. The gooey spinach and cheese mixture is all set to stain your teeth and the garlic and butter will make your breath as horrible as can be! In any manner, stained teeth, messy sauce and garlic breath are no measures of true love.”

Chef Danish Ashraf, Senior Chef de cuisine, Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel:
“Anti-aphrodisiac foods diminish the libido. People are unaware of the fact that there are many food ingredients that curb sex drive such as soy, cilantro, corn flakes, noodles, which are often used in our daily dishes. Dishes such as Cilantro marinated grilled chicken, Steamed fish in soya sauce and Licorice jelly have high usage of such anti-aphrodisiacs. In ancient times monks use to have cilantro or coriander, as they say, to curb their sexual desires. Most types of alcohol and drugs are also termed as anti-aphrodisiacs.”
