Discos and pubs have been branded as the ultimate hook up joints – where one can comfortably assume that everyone has come with the same purpose.

However they aren’t anymore the ideal places to pick a girl/guy from, as most college goers and young professionals claim there are better and wilder places for options.

Says Rakshit Prem, a final year engineering student, “I once made out with a girl who I met at a college fest that I had participated in, and though I did not win, I still believe it was rewarding enough,” he laughs, “I managed a date for a day!” Another college goer, Asma Pandit, a psychology student and an avid reader, reveals that she once hooked up with a guy she met in a public library.

“It was really strange! I would have never imagined picking a guy from a public library but now I feel it is a brilliant idea,” she says.
House parties are undoubtedly the most perfect venues to hook up - whether you are the guest or the host. In fact, it is the host who mostly gets to play the cupid at such parties.

“There is a whole lot of planning that goes behind each of my house parties,” says Karun Tare, a call centre employee. “I sit down with a couple of close friends and frame the list of invitees while secretly doing the match-making business simultaneously,” he says.

Certainly, it is important, even in case of a one night stand, for the person to be comfortable with the other and as psychologist Rina Kumar says, “Your mind is more stimulated when you are with the person of similar opinions”. “For instance if a person is very health conscious, it is best and also very likely, for him/her to find a match in the gym or yoga class,” she explains.
