Lil Wayne has shocked fans by announcing that he will retire in six years.

The 29-year-old rapper has revealed that he wants to spend more time with his family and so will walk away from his rapping career when he turns 35.

“Basically, I have been doing this for 18 years, that’s reason number one. I have accomplished all that I have set out to accomplish and more,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling GQ magazine.

“Six years I can do this Lil Wayne thing (sic), and my boys will be about seven and eight years old. And man, it’s all about them then. Whatever they’re into,” he added.

However, the ‘Tha Charter’ artist insists that he is not going to give up music altogether.

“I have a label and I’ve only put out two artists (Nicki Minaj and Drake). I have a lot more work to do and it’d be selfish to not focus on being the boss and focus on their projects,” he added.
