Indian rapper Baba Sehgal shot to fame in the 90s but moved to hosting shows like Santa and Banta News Unlimited and acting in soaps like Jugni Chali Jalandhar and now, he’s back again on television to judge a stand-up comedy show called Hasne Aur Hasane Ka Tonic, Ladies Special on Zee TV.

Strangely, it’s an all-women show, so, what’s Baba Sehgal’s contribution going to be on this show? He says, “I’ll judge the participant from a man’s perspective. Women are very competitive. It’s easier for a man to imitate a male actor but it’s difficult for women to copy a man. That’s why women are one up on the guys. We shot for a few episodes and it was a phenomenal experience.” Elaborating on this, he says, “I’m a woman-friendly man.”

Musing over his experience, so far, in the all-ladies show, he says, “I sometimes tell Tabassum (another judge on the show) that sab ‘sher’ padhte hai, main ‘bakri’ padhta hu.” Makes you smile, if not laugh! Well, these are just some of the jokes that are going to be cracked on the sets of this show.

Not leaving this great opportunity to promote his new album, Apni Life Ki Gaddi Ko Dhakka Maar, Baba will make an entry in the show with the main track of this album playing in the background. Talk about free publicity!

But as far as movies are concerned, Baba’s life seems to be rocking! He reveals, “I’m playing Ganesha’s father in My Friend Ganesha and I might also be doing a film by the Yashraj banner. I might also host the next season of Dhoom Macha De on television.”
