Her dad Viv Richards in the audience!

It was something that designer Masaba Gupta had been looking forward to ever since she stepped into the fashion world — that both her mum, actor Neena Gupta and dad, cricket legend Vivian Richards would be sitting on the front row when she would be showing her collection on the ramp. That dream came true yesterday.

“Vivian texted Masaba saying that he would be coming to see her show and take a seat on the front row. Masaba was excited beyond words. This is something that she’s been dreaming about since she was a child,” says a source.

According to sources, Richards, who’s in India for the cricket World Cup, wanted to meet daughter Masaba. It was then that Masaba invited him for her fashion show. “Neena also knows about it. She knows that her daughter was always attached to her father. Even though Viv has always given first preference to his family in Antigua, Masaba has always had a special place in his heart,” the source adds.

Yesterday, Richards walked in and took a seat next to Neena at 3.15pm, just before Masaba’s show. They were spotted chatting away.

“Viv has always been a fan of Masaba’s clothes. He wants to wear one someday and that might happen soon,” the source says. Guess some dreams do come true.
