There’s no strict dress code for a brunch — however, it’s important to look a bit classy when you walk into a swanky place for a brunch. However, it’s not impossible to achieve the look. DNA gets model Kavitha Shah in a casual yet cool avatar to demonstrate how it can be really easy!

Winner of the title Miss Bangalore 2010, Kavitha Shah has been in the modelling scene the eight months. She’s had the opportunity to walk the ramp for some noted designers. Sharing her experience while getting set for the Look of the Week column, she says, “The brunch look brought in a refreshing change from my previous looks. I really liked the kind of styling Sangeetha has done for me. The pretty hair accessory changed the entire look and I was pleasantly surprised! Overall, I had a great time shooting for this.”

Style that hair...
The hairdo for a brunch largely depends on the kind of outfit one is planning to wear. Kavitha decided to go casual and wore a floral dress; therefore, Sangeetha decided to give her French curls that suited the dress well. But for that to happen, Sangeetha had to first blow dry and iron her hair. A dash of hair spray and gel was added to set the curls right.

Contour my face...
To begin with, any face needs to be prepped for make-up, which means a clean and grime free face. So, Sangeetha began the session by cleaning up Kavitha’s face. Then, she used a touch of foundation to brighten up her face and followed it by adding a shade of shimmering pink for the eyes and of course, mascara. Sangeetha also dabbed blush-on to give Kavitha’s cheeks a natural glow and finished up with a shade of pink for the lips.

Check that outfit...
There is rarely a dress code for a brunch look unless your invite specifies it. To keep with the season and what’s hot this summer, Kavitha picked decided to pick a summery floral, off-shoulder dress from her own closet. The dress complemented the make-up making it just perfect for the theme.

Accessorise me...
The fact that the right accessories can make or break a look is no secret. Therefore, it’s important to go with the right number of trinkets and add-ons to complete a look. As for Kavitha, a simple ensemble was chosen. She wore a pair of simple earrings and Sangeetha added a bit of drama to her hair by pinning in a large flower as hair accessory.
