Ardent beer fans have been provided with special soundproof bonk boxes at Europe’s biggest lager festival as tents are considered to be terrible to get intimate, from where everyone can hear everything.

The converted “sex boxes” at Munich’s Oktoberfest include a double bed, soft lighting and layers of sound-deadening insulation to disable groans of passion from disturbing other guests on site.

“They’re a great idea because lots of people who come to Oktoberfest end up camping and tents are a terrible place to get intimate because everyone can hear everything,” the Daily Star quoted a festival fan as saying.

The name “Sex Boxes” has been derived from the basic cabins provided in Germany’s red-light districts for hookers and their punters.
