Bangalore is about to witness a fashion and style euphoria, with the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week, 2011. Here’s what to expect on the ramps…

The fourth edition of the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW), kickstarts in the city from February 3.

The  event, which features designers from the length and breadth of the country, will celebrate fashion for four days in a row. As a precursor to this event, we bring designers and their body of work, for each day of the fashion fiesta, as a warm up to the style quest for the season.

Kishan Bagri
Kolkata-based Kishan Bagri,  showcasing at the BFW for the first time, under the emerging designer category, has titled his collection as Bold ‘n’ Beautiful. “My collection of bridal dresses embodies a fusion of pride, confidence and humility,” offers the young designer. Kishan designs bridal wear with an Indo-western fusion theme for his label Kishan Bagri. “My signature style focuses on bridal fusion, with use of traditional fabrics and modern cuts,” he says. Kishan, will be putting forth 25 outfits at the BFW this year. He believes that the colour themes in his designs personify power and dignity of a bride and aim to bring out the traditional, with a modern twist.

Haasya Chandna
After studying fashion at London College of Fashion, Haasya got back to India to explore the  fashion scene here. She launched her line Kazamiir, which specialises in women’s wear. Having designed for various celebrities like Preity Zinta,  Kareena Kapoor, Ameesha Patel and more, Haasya has finally taken the plunge into the fashion week arena, with BFW, being her first. Haasya’s collection titled Transcendence, will represents the creation of beauty from abstract into concrete forms. The collection will feature stylish, well-cut international designs for women in prints and solids. She will showcase 21 designs in hues of  blues and greens, beiges and greys, vibrant yellows, red, black, among others.  “My buyer is the woman of today, who is ready to take on the world in a bold and classy avatar. She is a woman who knows her mind and has the confidence to make a style statement,” says Haasya.

Riyaz Gangji
Designer Riyaz Gangji, an established name on the Mumbai fashion scene, will be making his presence felt at BFW this year. The designer, who has been frequenting the city now, is excited about venturing in the southern fashion market. Riyaz’s forte is Indian bridal wear and this time the designer wants to “try out something new and surprise the audiences,” he says. At BFW, he will be showcasing his summer wear collection, with a beach theme that will feature vibrant colours. The outfits will focus on grace and different cuts, with an Indo-Western appeal, he says. “It will also feature great accessories,” Riyaz says, adding that his designs are set to blow the audiences mind, this time around!

Anju Modi
This is her second time at BFW, after receiving a stupendous response  last year. Anju draws her inspiration from anything Indian. Her collection for BFW this year is called Mira to Mira, inspired by the life of Mirabai and brings forth her singular charm, extraordinary beauty and marvel. “The collection glorifies the magnificent architecture of the royal palaces of Rajasthan and also highlights the colours of Lord Krishna,” Anju adds. The line features hand-woven benarasi fabrics, chanderi, cotton silk and muslin. Khadi has also been used to depict Mira’s simplicity, subtlety and elegance, Anju says. The collection will present Mughal angrakhas with draped pants, saris, lehangas and layered tunics teamed up with quaint salwars.
