As the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week slipped into its second day, organisers, models and designers were well in sync with the spirit of the show. The event opened with Mehnaz Noorani’s ethnic  collection. Recollecting the tense moments before the show, the designer says, “I was very nervous and quite naturally, as this was my first ever show. The excitement and nervousness of my first show apart, the fashion week has come as a good platform for interaction. I loved the collections by Archana Kochchar and Priya Narang and there is so much to learn from each one’s collection.” There is another reason why Mehnaz considers the fashion week a learning ground. “The event has taught me to become more outspoken and helped me understand that communication is the key to the business of fashion. You need to be really articulate,” she says.

Abdul Halder, who presented the finale collection on Day 2, says, “This is my third edition and it is the constantly improving! Bangalore’s good fashion taste motivates me to come back.”

International designer Mustafa Hassan Ali also says that this was one event he was looking forward to. “Fashion weeks are good networking grounds and I believe that our net worth is all about our network. I see the event as a potential place for Karnataka-based designers in particular to showcase their talent. As for me, I will keep an open eye for sets and ramps as back in Tanzania we mostly have outdoor shows.”

With two more days and many more designers to go, watch out for more action and interaction at the sixth Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week!
