Kitsch-a-licious
Nida Mahmood infused life into the proceedings of an otherwise regular day four. The spunky young designer’s line was inspired by the matchstick and bicycles. Her clothes had a pop art feel to them with ‘machis’ and bicycle prints on them. The show began with two giant puppets talking to each other and it only got better. Kitschy jackets, pants and jumpsuits earned her applause from the audience.

Religion much?
Prashant Varma’s show on day three was talked about on day four as well. The designer had given away copies of the Bhagvad Gita with his picture on it as souvenirs. Many front row personalities were debating the repercussions of the move, on day four as well.

Delhi snubs Bollywood
Just as we had given up on spotting Bollywood on the runway, Mumbai-based designer Gayatri Khanna had B-Towner Ira Dubey as her showstopper. Dressed in a sequined gown, Ira exuded oomph and confidence on the ramp. But the move didn’t seem to go down too well with other designers. It’s okay guys…Mumbai and Bollywood kind of go hand-in-hand, so you can excuse Gayatri this one time.

Karva Chauth break!
Most of Delhi was busy celebrating Karva Chauth on day four of the fashion week. And the (considerate) organisers even announced a lengthy two hour break in the evening so that women could go home, break their fasts and come back to celebrate fashion. Touche.
