Rajasthan: Scattered rain brings mercury down

Highest maximum temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bundi. Temperature is expected to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius during next 24 hours

Two weeks after the massive storm coupled with rains disturbed normal life in some districts of Rajasthan, certain parts of the state were again on the receiving end of thunderstorm, dust storm and rains on Tuesday. Though these activities were not so intense and weathermen do not see any further storm approaching in near future.

Moreover, it was a clear sky with sun shining bright in Jaipur city on Tuesday morning. During the day time, the scorching heat was unbearable but that changed drastically in afternoon when dust storm and scattered rains took over at isolated places thus bringing mercury down. Though these activities affected normal life, but provided much awaited relief. As per MeT report, the maximum and minimum temperature in Jaipur were recorded at 41.6 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively. Weathermen forecast that dust storm and thunderstorm with light rain is likely to occur.

As per Local Met office report, moderate rain and thunderstorm or dust storm occurred at isolated places in east Rajasthan while weather remained dry in rest of the divisions of the state. The highest maximum temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bundi. Churu, Bikaner, Jaislamer and Barmer recorded maximum temperature over 44 degrees Celsius mark.

As per Skymateweather, the prevailing western disturbance has moved away and a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan persists. Temperature is expected to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius during next 24 hours.
