Come December, and the long low-floor buses will cease to ply inside the walled city. With this, the decision on pulling the low -floor buses from walled city will finally become effective. Instead, 30 mini buses which have been bought by Jaipur city transport limited (JCTSL) will henceforth be used to carry passengers inside the old city.
These 30 mini buses have arrived and are being made ready to ply on the roads with registration and other RTO formalities.Giving the information, a senior official of JCTSL confirmed, “30 mini buses have been purchased, they will run in walled city and low floor buses are being pulled out,” said a senior official of JCTSL speaking to DNA.
The routes, on which these mini buses will run are being prepared and soon all documentation will be in place, added the official.
Currently the buses running on routes AC1 Sanganer to Kukas, AC5 Agarwal Farm to Amber are running through walled city.
These buses cross the walled city, Ajmeri gate, Sanganeri Gate, Badi Chaupar, Ramganj mod, Jalmahal while going to Amber and Kukas. These 15-16 low floor buses are doing number of trips every day on the narrow roads of walled city causing jam if there is a slow moving vehicle in front of them, resulting in traffic commotion in the already crowded roads inside the walled city.
Though there are very few mini buses running on route number 10 but largely the buses on AC1 and AC5 are catered by these long low floor buses.
Currently, few mini buses red in colour can be seen in broken down condition parked in slip lane for months together in Mansarovar SFS.
Notably, the decision to pull out the low floor buses was taken in the month of January in 2016 and is being implemented at the end of 2017.
VIA WALLED CITY
Currently the buses running on routes AC1 Sanganer to Kukas, AC5 Agarwal farm to Amber are running through the walled city. These buses cross the walled city, Ajmeri gate, Sanganeri Gate, Badi chaupar, Ramganj mod, Jalmahal while going to Amber and Kukas.
