A team of the officials visited the Athletics arena in the afternoon to see the exact place.
The Athletics arena of SMS Stadium has become the focal point of the government departments after the reports of the possibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi landing directly through helicopter came in.
There are strong chances that the helicopter will land at this place in SMS Stadium. On Tuesday, officials inspected the place and discussed the logistics that will be involved in this process. A team of the officials visited the Athletics arena in the afternoon to see the exact place.
Sources informed that in October 2003, when Sonia Gandhi, the then Congress president visited Jaipur and had a public meeting at Amrudon Ka Baag, then plan to make a helipad at the same place was made and this spot was considered. She had then visited for the election campaign in the state.
Hence, there are possibilities that if the Prime Minister lands at the venue by helicopter, then the athletics arena will be the place where the landing would take place. However, back then in 2003, it was a simple athletics arena but now it has been converted into a synthetic arena. There exists a large ground in between the arena which might be used, sources informed. SMS Stadium is just opposite the venue that is Amrudo ka Bagh and goes well with the security agencies.
The arrangements at SMS Stadium regarding Prime Minister’s visit can also be gauged by the fact that on Tuesday, a team of cops visited the stadium and took the details of the people working there. There are a large number of people like labourers, contractors among others who are working in stadium apart from regular employees. The details of these people were taken by the police. Though, there is a big “if” in this plan.
