All help assured to martyrs’ kin

During the ceremony, Gen Rawat reiterated that the army was prepared for all contingencies.

Responding to a query, Gen Rawat stated that govt had issued orders, the Army would ensure that no child of a martyred soldier would be allowed to suffer on this account.

He added that the army would continue to support the kin of martyrs in the same way as it has been doing in the past.

He would be taking up this controversial decision with the government.

Further he sadid that “The moral of our soldiers is paramount he added. His statement comes as a relief to all the families of the martyred soldiers for whom the last few months have been a constant source of worry with the further education of their children under a cloud. This decision is believed to have angered not just the ex-serviceman but also the serving army personnel as well.”
