A review meeting chaired by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Board member Vinay Mittal on Thursday gave nod to promotion of 16 officers of the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) to IAS cadre. A seat has been reserved for RAS officer Nishkam Diwakar who was booked in the single lease deed case for corruption and is currently on suspension.
According to the sources, those RAS whose names were cleared by the panel include Pawan Arora, Yagya Mitra Singh Deo, Deepak Nandi, Pratibha Singh, CR Meena, Sanwerlal Verma and DC Jain.
Sources informed that a notification on the elevation of selected RAS officers to the IAS cadre is expected to be released in July after disposal of formalities between the Union and state government. “The names shall be sent for induction in the Union civil list and then sent back for approval by chief minister Vasundhara Raje. The final names shall be released as a part of the Union Civil List,” an official said. On Friday, another panel is set to discuss and decide names of 9 officers of the Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) for promotion.
