Youth Congress to train cadre on schemes

In line with Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s diktat to party workers to monitor “effective implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) and other drought management measures”, the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) will soon train its cadres about the nuances of various central government welfare schemes.

Gandhi had, in a special session of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) convened last Wednesday, instructed party workers to actively monitor implementation of all social sector schemes initiated by the UPA government. She asked party workers to utilise tools like Right to Information (RTI) Act to ensure implementation of all such schemes, especially NREGA.
