A plot to seek revenge was finally unraveled on Monday with the arrest of a 26-year-old, who sent the chief minister an intimidating e-mail stating he would rock Chennai with serial blasts on July 16, from a certain M Jayaseelan’s e-mail ID.

According to an official statement from the Cyber Crime Branch, Yuvraj of Krishnaraypuram in Karur district sent the e-mail to cmcell@tn.gov.in, ighrs@sanchernet.in, accp-addl.cop@sanchar.net.in, s.balu@nic.in, cop@vsnl.net and officer@-cybercellmumbai.com from Jayaseelan’s e-mail ID jaya9361028757@yahoo.com.

Commissioner T Rajendran set up a team to investigate the case. The team zeroed down on Jayaseelan, who denied the crime. Further investigation led them to Yuvraj, who had reportedly paid Jayaseelan Rs22,500 six months ago to find him a job. But when Jayaseelan refused to return the money although he had not found Yuvraj a job,
Yuvraj reportedly plotted the “revenge crime”.

According to the official statement, Yuvraj confessed to the crime.
