With the chink in its armour on corruption issue removed after the decision on Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, BJP today went all out in its attack on the UPA government on various scams that had taken place during its tenure.

"Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed has said President's Rule should be imposed in Karnataka. His statement is condemnable and deeply unfortunate. Is Congress giving an indication to Governor H R Bhardwaj to take some action?" BJP Chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad asked.

He insisted that there was no ground for President's rule in the state as the BJP government enjoyed a majority, and the party was only going for a change of leadership. Moreover, BJP had won all the recent by-elections as well as Taluka and Panchayat polls.

He alleged that Congress wants to do "back-seat driving" in Karnataka politics which is not acceptable to BJP.

"Let Congress not try to come to power through the back door. It has been rejected by the people of the state several times," Prasad said.

The Rajya Sabha MP brought up the 2-G Spectrum issue and asked how Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was not aware that some wrong was being done. "And if he knew, why is he silent?" he said.

"The Prime Minister is guilty of a conspiracy of silence and culpable inaction," Prasad said, adding that he allowed the then Telecom Minister A Raja to "ride roughshod" in the ministry.
