The post-mortem report of a 53-year-old patient, who had earlier died in the city, has allegedly shown that the death happened due to the negligence of his doctor. The post mortem report of Momubha Jadeja, who passed away during his treatment for a heart ailment at Sanjivani Hospital in Vastrapur, allegedly shows that that the death happened due to negligence.

Jadeja, a resident of Rajkot, was being treated for a heart valve problem by Dr Suresh Bhagya, who also has a heart hospital at Shahibaug, said police sources. Jadeja had earlier undergone treatment at the Rajkot-based Satyasai Hospital.

"The doctors at Satyasai hospital told Jadeja that Rajkot did not have a hospital good enough to undertake the operation and so advised him to shift to Ahmedabad for treatment," said sources.
Jadeja then came to Ahmedabad and went to Shraddha hospital at Chanakyapuri. This hospital too allegedly told him that they did not have the necessary wherewithal to undertake the operation. The patient then went to Bhagya Heart Hospital in June 2010.

"Here he was treated by Dr. Suresh Bhagya, a resident of Shilalekh apartment, Shahibaug. Then he was referred to Sanjivani Hospital by the doctor, who told Jadeja that he will operate on him at Sanjivani hospital," said sources.

On June 10 2010, Jadeja was operated upon as had been discussed. But, the operation was not successful and this allegedly led to Jadeja's death.  His relative Bharatsinh Vaghela filed a complaint of accidental death with Vastrapur police and a post-mortem was conducted.

On Saturday the post mortem report came and it showed that the doctor performed the operation, despite knowing that there was a risk involved, leading to Jadeja's demise.

The police have filed a case of culpable homicide against the doctor.
