Women literacy rate low in Erode district

The literacy rate of women was low in Erode when compared to other districts in Tamil Nadu, district collector R Sudalikannan said here.

Distributing Manimehalai Awards to Women SHGs yeterday, he said there were about 14,000 SHGs in the district and they were functioning efficiently.

The SHGs should to devote their attention to improve the women literacy rate and involve in cultural activities, he said.
